Nestled in the heart of the fertile Willamette Valley, Willamette Mission State Park has more than 1,600 acres of woodlands interspersed with wetlands, rolling meadows and working farmland. Just eight miles north of Salem and only minutes from I-5, the park's location makes it a convenient retreat for family or corporate outings. Whether your taste leans towards bird watching along the Willamette River, picnicking in a shady walnut or filbert grove, wetting a line or enjoying the scenery from horseback or bicycle, this park has it all. Willamette Mission Horse camp sites are available by reservation only. Walk-ins are not allowed. Park sites may be able to accommodate groups larger than specified capacity. You must call park manager for advice before making these reservations. Stair Step day use area is no longer reservable and is available on a first come, first serve basis. Special interest groups that are planning organized events must contact the park manager prior to making reservations. If your group is planning to have amplified music or alcohol in kegs, contact the park manager prior to the event. Willamette Mission has a $5.00 day use entry fee. Willamette Mission shelters, horse camp and group camp are closed between October 1 and May 15th annually. The nightly Extra Vehicle fee is $7.00.
