The White River Campground sits in a stand of mature cedar along the banks of the White River at an altitude of 4,000 feet. The campgrounds are approximately 8 miles from the popular California Hot Springs. Fishing and hiking, along with camp-side river wading, are popular pursuits. The river narrows to a creek-size width near the campgrounds.
This is a remote, tent-only site set back a distance from the road. Vault toilets, campfire rings and picnic areas are provided. Six people per site including children. This is a remote location with no nearby services. There is a long winding road to the campground, area roads are steep with switchbacks. Off-road vehicles are not permitted in the campground. This is bear country, food must be stored in approved containers.
In accordance with standard industry practices, Sequoia Recreation will be assessing an additional vehicle fee per night on the second vehicle in each single family campsite, and on the third and fourth vehicle in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered to be one vehicle and the third and fourth are also considered to be one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles.
Due to the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Help protect our forests by purchasing or collecting firewood at or near your camping destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov. Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
