South Shore Group Campground is the only group campground at Haystack Reservoir. It is a 50-acre camping area with three group campsites that hold up to 50 people each. These campsites are located close to the lake with beautiful views of the Cascade Mountains. It is a quiet campground with plenty of juniper trees and sagebrush for privacy screening. You cannot view the other campsites from your group site. It is located behind a closed gate where you are given access when camping. It is primitive camping with no water, electric or sewer hookups. Water is available two miles away at West Shore Recreation Area. South Shore Group Campground has a locked gate to the facility. You need to check in with the Campground Host at West Shore Recreation Area, two miles away, to receive your access instructions. You will need a copy of your reservations for the Camp Host to confirm. Don’t Move Firewood: Please protect Pacific Northwest forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that can threaten the health of our western forests. You can make a difference by obtaining and burning your firewood near your camping destination.
