Sentinel Campground in Cedar Grove is nestled in the stunning Kings Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the United States. With views of a lovely meadow central to the campground, the sound of the Kings River, and glowing mountainsides just beyond the trees, Sentinel Campground is a wonderful place for families to spend time in the great outdoors. Temperatures in Cedar Grove can range from 30 to 100 degrees Farenheit during the season. The 30 miles from Grant Grove takes approximately one hour of driving time, due to winding roads and numerous switch backs. There are no gas stations in Cedar Grove. There is no cellphone service or Wifi in Cedar Grove. Payphones are available. There are no electric or water hookups for RVs. There is no dump station for RVs in Cedar Grove. A California State Fishing License is required for fishing. You may use dead and down wood for campfires in your campsite's provided campfire ring. Please do not bring your own firewood from outside the park. Many invasive species are present in firewood and can damage the park's fragile ecosystem. Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more. American Black Bears are present and active in Cedar Grove. Any scented items, garbage, and especially food must be properly stored in the bear-proof food storage boxes provided in each campsite. Food and scented items must not be left in your vehicle, backpacks or coolers. The food storage box dimensions are 28" high x 36" deep x 48" wide.
