About
The Santiam Horse Camp and Day-Use Area is located in a lush forest setting and is the starting point for a system of non-motorized trails for horseback riders, bikers and hikers. The campground offers restrooms, a hand pump for water, trash service, and metal fire rings. Horse campers will find ample room for trailer parking as well as corrals in each site. Trail users travel through miles of diverse forest with clear streams and unique geological formations. Campers must bring a minimum of one pack or saddle animal to stay in horse camp corral sites. Two vehicles are included with campsite fee. Additional vehicles are $5 per night, payable at the campground. Due to extreme fire danger all campfires are prohibited. This includes charcoal briquettes. Propane or bottled fuel cook stoves are currently allowed. For up to date information please got to: https://www.oregon.gov/ODF/Recreation/Pages/default.aspx. Air quality outside the campground may be diminished due to fires.
