Mount Rose Campground is conveniently located between Reno and Lake Tahoe just off scenic Mount Rose Highway. Visitors love the campground for its proximity to excellent hiking trails and recreational opportunities at Lake Tahoe. Caution: black bears frequent the area; all food must be kept in provided food storage lockers or approved containers. Due to its high elevation, opening and closing dates may vary due to weather; travel over Mount Rose Highway may be similarly affected. This campground has first-come, first-served sites. A per-day, per-vehicle fee will be collected on-site for extra vehicles. Opening and closing dates are subject to change due to existing weather conditions.
