About

Lone Pine Campground is located near the base of Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the continental United States, offering unparalleled views of the mountain and surrounding peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. An abundance of fishing and hiking opportunities can be found both in and around Lone Pine. Hiking Mt. Whitney requires a permit and specific regulations apply. No off-road vehicles allowed in the campground. Campers must check-in with host upon arrival and bring their confirmation letter. Limit 2 vehicles or 1 RV per site $7 extra vehicle fee collected at the campground. First-come, first-served sites may be available. Be bear aware; keep all food out of site in approved containers and remove all food from area after eating; do not leave food in car; always keep a clean camp and do not feed any wild animals. Hiking within the Inyo Wilderness requires a special permit for both day and overnight stays. These permits are managed through a limited allocation system.
