About

Fir Group Campground sits near Hume Lake in the Sequoia National Forest, amidst pines and at an elevation of 5,250 feet. Hume Lake was built to support a one-time commercial logging operation, and sits in the Kings River Watershed, a region of the Sierra Nevada mountains replete with vast stands of timber. This is black bear country; visitors should follow safety precautions and store food in the provided food lockers. Only non-motorized boats are allowed on Hume Lake. This group facility is limited to 31 vehicles. There are no electric hookups. Off-road vehicles are not permitted in the campground. Camping fee does not include park entrance fee. Due to the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Help protect our forests by purchasing or collecting firewood at or near your camping destination and burning it on-site. Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. For current fire conditions or weather closures contact the Hume Lake Ranger District, (559) 338-2251

Don’t Move Firewood: Protect California’s forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
