Elkhorn Valley Recreation Site, located within the Little North Santiam Recreation Area, offers overnight camping and day-use recreation opportunities along a beautiful stretch of the Little North Santiam River east of Salem. Trails along the river give visitors access to swimming holes and fishing. Elkhorn Valley is an excellent basecamp for trips along the Little North Fork Santiam including Opal Creek. Vehicle size limits: Due to tight roads, truck and trailer combos or large vehicles over 24 feet long not allowed. No combos or large vehicles in Loop C. Occupancy: The stay limit is 14 days for every 30 day period. Saving campsites is not allowed. One person must occupy the site each night. Reservations: Loop B campsites are available for reservations. All other campsites in Loop A and C are first-come, first-served. Please check in with the campground host upon arrival for registration. Fees: Campsites are $14 per night for first 2 vehicle, each additional vehicle it is $5. Day-use is $5 per vehicle. Firewood: Firewood collection not allowed. Firewood can be purchased from camp hosts for $10 a cart. Buy it where you burn it! Quiet hours: Established quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. daily. Be aware that the front gate is closed during these hours.
