Research and reserve your next California campsite today! There will be campsites open in North Grove campground all winter on a first-come-first-served basis. Between December 1st and the end of February, there will be NO restrooms or water in the campground (DRY CAMPING ONLY). Campers must be self-contained, and they need to be prepared for winter conditions, including heavy snow and chain control. Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in. Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP).

The maximum number of vehicles allowed to park in each campsite is 2; motorhomes and trailers count as vehicles. Your reservation fee pays for one vehicle only. Your second vehicle, and other subsequent vehicles, will be charged an extra vehicle fee for each night’s stay in the campground. If you have more than two vehicles in the park, then the extra vehicles will be required to park in overflow parking – you may not park more than two vehicles in your campsite. Overflow parking is limited, please plan accordingly. When towing a trailer into the park, you are not required to pay the extra vehicle payment for each night’s stay in the park; however, the trailer still counts towards your two vehicle maximum per campsite. ATVs are not permitted to operate within the Calaveras Big Trees State Park. All roadways are State Highways, and all DMV and California Vehicle Codes apply. California State law requires children under 18 to wear bicycle helmets while riding bicycles, scooters, in-line skates, roller skates, and skate boards (CVC 21212(a)). To book a Group site you must have at least NINE occupants. An RV sanitation station is located near the park entrance, and use is included with campsite registration. The Dump Station is seasonal; closed in winter.
