Isleton Fathers’ Day festival is a weekend of Cajun & Zydeco (and some good ol’ Southern blues), food from beignets to crawdads and etouffe, with clowns and carnival fun for families.
As always, it’s one GIANT PARTY in Old Sac and surrounding hotel ballrooms pulsing with the rhythms of jazz, swing, blues, zydeco, rockabilly, bluegrass, Latin music and more. There will be dancing in the streets! Music will be running morning, noon, and midnight. We’ll offer specialty concerts and events, like the Saturday Parade, evening lineups of dance and party bands, and a Memorial Day Salute to Service. We’ll also have world class music groups that you don’t want to miss. There’s plenty to do all weekend long.
Is held each year for four purposes: To raise awareness of and exposure to, the musical genre that originated in Scotland and Ireland and is the roots of bluegrass and country music. It is also the most fun music around. To give exposure and an opportunity to play a great stage to local Celtic bands and to showcase great touring Celtic bands as well, to make it dynamic with a wide range of styles. To provide an entertainment venue to Bakersfield that can be enjoyed as a family and that appeals to all ages. To raise money to donate to the Miriam Jamison Center for Abused Children, an underfunded agency that is vitally important to far too many children in Kern County.
