Foxtail Group Picnic Area is located in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, just 47 miles from downtown Las Vegas. Visitors enjoy hiking, mountain biking, scenic driving, and winter snowplay in this forested desert oasis. This facility is for day-use only; no overnight camping allowed Sites may be available on a first-come, first-served basis outside the reservation season. Carpooling is advised due to the very limited parking areas. Area parking lots are located at the bottom of the mountain off of Hwy 95 on both Lee Canyon Road (156) and Kyle Canyon Road (157). Another option for parking is at the meadows, approximately 1/4 mile above Foxtail on Hwy 156. Water spigots are shared between sites. Please call (702) 872-5486 to check current fire restrictions.
