About

Capps Crossing is located on the North Fork of the Cosumnes River. Here, campers can enjoy the fresh smell of conifers and the songs of many birds. A stream runs through the site, adding to the peacefulness of the area. Hiking trails and rock climbing areas are nearby. The Cosumnes River flows from the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada and runs for about 52 miles through California’s Central Valley and into the Mokelumne River. Bears frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers. This facility has first-come, first-served sites. A daily fee will be charged for pets. Ten vehicles are included in the group site fee; a fee will be charged on site for additional vehicles.

Don’t Move Firewood: Protect California’s forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.
