Constitution Day
The Annual Constitution Day Parade tops a weekend of festivities in this historic California Gold Rush town.

Nevada City’s Constitution Day Parade has been a local tradition since 1967 and is reported to be the oldest and largest Constitution observance in western America. The parade features more than 100 entries and culminates other activities including Revolutionary War Living History in Pioneer Park, the Gold Country Duck Race on Deer Creek.

The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee
The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is one of the longest running events in the State of California.

Its earliest roots date back to 1893, held that year in Copperopolis. The fair eventually found a permanent home outside of Angels Camp where it is held today.   In the spirit of the old movie classic “State Fair,” the Calaveras County Fair is a blend of entertainment, exhibits, livestock, arena events, great food and our signature event, the Frog Jump. This piece of Americana will have you Leaping to return year after year.

Lion’s Club Dandelion Days
Annual St. Patrick’s Day Dandelion Days Celebration is a family-oriented event, and it’s lots of fun!

It includes an outdoor bazaar and flea market featuring antiques, relics and collectibles, arts and crafts, and much more. There is also lots of fun, food, street entertainers and even a 5K run. A pancake, ham and egg breakfast, located at the Jackson Civic Center, kicks off both days activities at 7:00am (or there abouts). But Dandelion Days is also known for its rich local community flavor, one thing that makes it so popular. In fact, a great many attendees come from outside the county to join the fun!

Mariposa Storytelling Festival
For more than 25 years, the Annual Mariposa Storytelling Festival brings the best storytelling performances every 2nd Weekend in March!

The Storytelling Festival has been recognized and supported by two fine organizations: The James Irvine Foundation and The National Endowment for the Arts. “A Great Nation Deserves Great Art.”

Wild and Scenic Film Festival
This film festival, considered the largest of its kind, showcases award-winning films about the environment, community activism and adventure.

The 10th annual Festival is being held January 13-15, 2012 in the historic downtown of Nevada City, California. Come join us for a film filled weekend in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains!

Murphys Irish Days
Each year thousands of people from Northern California and beyond gather in the historic gold rush town of Murphys to honor its Celtic heritage and to celebrate as only the Irish can.

Its picturesque Main Street is filled with booths offering hand crafted items, original art, photographs, tasty food, wine, and other beverages.”

Draft Horse Classic
Join the beautiful Draft Horses at the 2013 Draft Horse Classic.

Majestic Draft Horse performances, breath-taking competitions, and seeing a Draft Horse “up-close” – it’s all part of the Annual Draft Horse Classic and Harvest Fair at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley. The Classic has grown to become the premier Draft Horse show in the western United States, and features six majestic performances, along with non-stop entertainment in between classes.
