Description
Guided hikes and outings, tours and workshops on Mare Island. With over 70 events on the schedule, you'll have to watch closely to make sure you don't miss your favorite! You will find that one of the most unique aspects of our birding festival is the chance to soak up history on Mare Island and view an amazing array of birdlife all at the same time.
Visit Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve The Shoreline Heritage Preserve is now open for Second Saturday Access Days the second Saturday of every month. A Self-guided walking trail with 13 stops, docent led outings, fun programs that feature discovery of natural treasures or commemorate an event in history linked to the Preserve are offered, as well as seasonal events that celebrate holidays like Halloween, Easter or Valentine’s Day. The Preserve will be open Saturday and Sunday during the 2010 Flyway Festival for self-guided walks.

Description
The Expo Building 897 is the main event location for the expo and is located at the corner of Azuar Avenue and I Street on Mare Island. The outing tent is in front and is the meeting location for many of the outings.
Directions:- From I-80 east-or west-bound, exit on Tennessee St., continue west to the entrance to Mare Island. Follow Festival signs.
- From Napa and Sonoma - Travel south on Highway 29 to Tennessee St., turn right and follow directions above.
- From Contra Costa County - Cross the Benicia-Martinez Bridge on I-680. Take I-780 west toward Benicia and Vallejo. Continue on I-780 for approximately 7 miles. Exit at I-80 east. Continue on I-80 toward Sacramento. Exit on Tennessee St. and follow directions above.
- From Marin and Sonoma Travel east on Highway 37 to the Mare Island exit just before the Napa River Bridge. Turn right at the north gate to Mare Island; follow Festival signs.
