Get Your 2010 Guide at Quartzsite RV Show

E-mail Print PDF
“Camper Rick” here. It’s Monday, January 18 and I am now in my third day of manning the Camp-California booth here at the Quartzsite, AZ RV Show. The show lasts until next Sunday, Jan. 24. My neighbor is Ruth Williams, one of the “Alaska Milepost” Field editors. You would not believe the people that stop by to discuss Sarah Palin, mostly good comments.

The weather has been super, although there is rain on the forecast. The crowd is fantastic; tons of people all ages enjoying the many booths, food and fun. Hey, if you’re in the area or looking for something to do, stop in to Quartzsite, AZ. I’m in the big tent, booth 451, on the south side of Hwy 10 in the northeast corner of the tent.

Stop by and get your copy of our award-winning camping guide! It is new and improved, and includes information on how to get entries into a drawing for a FREE RV at the California State Fair!

One finalist to win the RV at the State Fair will be drawn from the attendees at this show. Stop by and see me in booth 451! Add a comment

LA Campgrounds Return to "Camping As Usual"

E-mail Print PDF
The Station Fire in Los Angeles County has threatened several privately owned campgrounds and RV Parks. In fact, Acton/Los Angeles North KOA and the nearby Thousand Trails park were evacuated as a precaution. The parks did not sustain any damage and evacuees have been able to return. Representatives state that as of Friday, September 11, the smoke has been clear for several days and they are open for "camping as usual."

Many of the evacuees went down the road to the Californiana RV Resort in Acton. This park was not threatened by the fire and was able to stay open continuously.

Further to the southeast, Camp Williams is currently evacuated as a result of the Station Fire. While the fire has moved away, several access roads are still closed preventing the return of their guests and residents. They have not sustained any damage and are awaiting word that roads have been reopened.
